Sea Pines Vacation {part 1}

Last week, we spent time vacationing with Matt's family in Sea Pines Resort in Hilton Head, SC.

Somehow, I have lived in Georgia my entire life and have never been to Hilton Head, which happens to be 1-2 hours closer than other beaches we've gone to in the past.

We didn't venture out a whole lot into the rest of Hilton Head, but I can tell you we absolutely LOVED Sea Pines! Matt and I joked that after all the issues we've run into planning our little family trip for July, maybe we should just go back there for another week with just the four of us. It was glorious.

The resort reminded us of a much larger, more family oriented, version of Palmetto Bluff, which we were kind of obsessed with after going a couple of years ago.

The bike baths, the canopy of trees, the complimentary trolley rides, the lakes, the beach, the playgrounds, the little square with clothing shops and ice cream and candy stores... it was a little slice of heaven. And the people we were with made it pretty great too. ;)

Memories from the trip:
*Ryan riding on the trolley and me asking him what he thought about it, and him responding in a dreamy little voice, "It's perfect, mama."
*Natalie crushing her morning naps in her little beach bed while the rest of us played in the sand and water.
*Bike rides with Ryan in the iBert and Natalie in the Solly Wrap
*Leaving the resort and 10 minutes into our drive, Ryan starting to cry and say, "Nanni!" (his name for Natalie) ...sweet guy thought we left her and calmed down right away when we showed him that she was sitting right next to him in her carrier.
*Ryan doing "cannyballs" into the pool and going all the way under for the first time and loving it
*Ryan waking up 6 or before no matter what time he went to bed and requesting "milk and stories time" (the start of his little naptime routine) around 11 each day.

running in the rain back to our car after a dinner that involved Natalie having a major blowout and mom-of-the-year forgetting diapers and wipes! (thank goodness for my sis-in-law, a petite 18 month old niece, a random lady with extra wipes, and all the little girls who came into the bathroom and passed me toilet paper from the stalls) #memories

breakfast on the porch each morning

listening to Gregg Russell in Harbor Town- Ryan was dancing at my feet ;)

Sweet girl was a trooper with our late nights!

  1. So fun!! Looks like you guys had a great time! I have one of those "beach beds" for Austin that my SIL saved for me - we use it all the time!! Did you ever do a wrap tutorial? I like the way you have Natalie wrapped for the bike ride. I don't think I know that way...
