First Weekend Guest!

This past weekend, Matt's cousin Graham came to stay with us.  He's a freshman at Ole Miss and came to spend the Easter weekend with us.  We loved having him!  We tried to take him to some good Atlanta spots in the short time we had.  We hit up Souper Jenny for lunch (if you're in Atlanta and have never been, you've got to go!) and then went to see Limitless at the Fork and Screen by our house- such a good movie!  If you've never been to a dine-in theater, it's like the modern-day drive-in (wow, that's a lot of hyphens in one sentence).  Very fun!  Sunday was spent with both of our families. It was a great weekend!

Mea's Shower!!

Last weekend, Andrea, Steph, and I threw Meagan a baby shower!  The four of us lived together in college and tried to pretend this past weekend like we still were roommates.  Minus the whole Meagan's pregnant thing, it felt pretty authentic! :)  As you will see from the pictures, she is the cutest pregnant person and looks amazing!

But before I get to shower pics, I want to post some pictures from our day at the beach in Charleston.  Since Andrea and I were on our Spring Break, we decided to drive up to Charleston on Thursday to see the nursery :) and get a day at the beach with Meagan before heading down to Columbia Friday night.  Another one of our college roommates, Brittany, met us there with her 9 month old baby, Noah!  I hadn't seen either of them since Noah was 6 weeks old, so I was pretty excited they could come for the day.  Noah is so big now and such a cutie!

All I have to say is I hope I look half as good as Brit does after a baby!  It was so good to see her and see her sweet little man.  She is such a good mama!  Brit's sister came too and brought her baby boy who is only 3 months old!  Andrea and I took turns holding him- precious!!

Okay, now for pics from the baby shower. Steph gets all the credit for the creative decor.  She did SUCH a good job with the decorations, and she made them all herself!  I am so not gifted in that way so I seriously appreciate people that can have a vision and make it come to life. It looked great!  I don't think I set my camera on the right setting because some of these pictures are dark, but you'll get the gist!

My mom made these cute little booties for the favors. Aren't they fun?!

Steph made the monogrammed cupcake toppers: EHG for Emerson Grae Hostetler. :)

The four of us with our mamas!

That night, we had an organizing party and got little Emerson's new gifts together for her. I think she was very happy. :)

Now begins the countdown for the call that Mea is going into labor.  I'll have my own hospital bag ready so I can start my drive right after I get the call.  :)  YAY!

Weekend with My Boys

This past weekend, I watched my nephews while my sister and her husband went to a wedding in Alabama. We had the best time! I love these boys so much!

The great part about being an aunt is getting to spoil them.  They are such sweet and grateful kids so it's always fun to surprise them with special treats. :)  We had a fun-filled day that started with the library, then back to the house for a game of Life with Noah while Maddox napped, then we made a Moon-Dough farm, went for some ice-cream, went to feed the ducks and play at the park, and finished the day off with pizza and popcorn and Madagascar 2.  Here are some pics from the weekend!

I love this picture! So much to explore... very cute :)

So much cooler than the Play-dough we used to play with!

We leave tomorrow for Charleston to see Meagan and then head to Columbia on Saturday for her shower! Pics to come from that when we get back. :)

1/2 Marathon

On Sunday, my sister ran the 1/2 marathon in Atlanta. This was her second year doing it... such an accomplishment! She trained so hard and had a great race. I was really glad that we got to be there to support... and even happier that we were on the sidelines and not in the race, haha. :) Here are a few pics from the morning.

You can almost hear it, "Matt! Hey Matt, hey!"

 So sweet!

Mom and Charles got back from their cruise the night before and came out to support- so sweet :)

Here comes my sister on the right in the blue.

She almost ran right past us... we were yelling so loud but she was in the zone!

Yay! She saw us right before she ran by!

Maddox skipping on his way to get a new balloon. :)

That's what I call motivation! Love this. :)

:)

And last I leave you with a picture of Matt after he got back from a real estate reception last week.  Unfortunately, spouses weren't invited, but he was too cute to not take a picture of!

We have internet!

As sad as it may sound, a house doesn't fully feel like a home until you have TV and internet.  So as of yesterday, we are finally feeling like this is home!  Praise the Lord that the guy could finally finish everything before the NCAA tournament starts this Thursday.  And before Clemson plays in the play-in game tonight at 9:00.  GO TIGERS!  We may or may not have traveled to many places over the last three weeks trying to mooch internet or TV.  But that's what happens when the sweet lady that lived here before us only had connections for a 1950s phone line.  Here is a shot of one of our many trips to the book store:
(Okay, so we actually just like going to the bookstore and probably would have done this whether we had internet or not... hence Matt reading and NOT using the internet :) )

Not having TV and internet though has given us time to really settle. I feel pretty excited about how things are looking!  My parents brought us furniture that was in the house I grew up in for one of the guest bedrooms. They were our first official guests. :)

And here's the finished product of the living room and guest room!

Finally, last night we had two of my college roommates and their hubbies over for The Bachelor finale (such good sports our guys are!).
