Ten on the 10th: Favorite Finds

Before I get into today's list, I have to say, this week has been kind of a big deal for us from a parenting perspective. Monday, I noticed that Ryan cut his first tooth! And I actually saw it, not just felt it with my finger (or another part surprisingly), so it's probably been there for at least a few days. And then yesterday, he definitely laughed! Which is just to sweetest moment when you hear that giggle for the first time (although giggle is a bit of an exaggeration.. it was more of a lengthened version of the short sound he usually makes when he's happy). It's pretty hilarious actually... kind of sounds like a deep old man laugh, or like he's fake laughing, ha. But whatever it was, I wore myself out trying to get him to do it over and over again! At some point, hopefully I'll be able to get it on video so that we can remember what his early laugh sounded like- it's so funny sounding!

Okay, onto today's list. In no particular order, here are 10 of my favorite finds from the past month:

1.
K Cups
I have two new favorite brands of k-cups that are oh-so-delicious. I don't know about y'all, but I really like flavored coffee, but don't love for it to be too strong or too weak. And since getting the Keurig (we have this one), my only disappointment has been that I wasn't able to get a cup quite as full as I did when I brewed my own without it tasting too weak.

So insert New England Coffee MEDIUM Roast French Vanilla k cups. These are SO good! The big difference though is that they come inside a regular coffee pouch bag (inside the box), so I felt like they were supposed to stay in there and therefore didn't put them in my nifty tray (which, for an anal particular person like me, is a little bit of a bummer since I then have to find a spot for the box instead of emptying it out and recycling it right away (I'm crazy... I'm fully aware).

The other delish brand I've found is Starbucks- have you heard of it? Kidding. I know it should have been a given that these would be good... and stronger... but again, I like flavored coffee. So NOW, Starbucks has these three flavors that I LOVE! (Or maybe they always have and I'm just now noticing)

Yum, yum, yum. They only downside is that their boxes have 10 or 16, as opposed to most brands carrying 12 or 18 for the same prices. Figures, they're Starbucks.

2.

If you're not reading E's blog, you should be. She is a sweet blogger friend of mine (ironically, she and I went to Clemson together but didn't know each other until we met through the blogging world) who used to write a blog called E, Myself, and I, and now writes at a new space called Teaching Sam and Scout. She's refreshingly honest and a great writer (which is a good thing since she teaches high school English). A month ago, she wrote a post called On C-Sections and Shame. She managed to find that fine line between expressing her feelings without judging others decisions. And she's just great, so whether you're pregnant or not, you should check her out.

3.
Solly Baby Wrap
If I've said it once, I've said it a million times. I love this thing. Love, love, love it. Right now, it's especially great to have available for the late afternoon/early evening when Ryan's tired but doesn't want to sleep in his crib (I think with the time change he worries that he's being put down for the night without his last meal- and if you've seen him lately, you know that the boy does not miss a meal).

I have the castlerock color and am asking for the goldie for Christmas. I really like the mauve a lot, but I decided that Ryan gets mistaken for a girl enough as it is, the poor guy doesn't need to be carried around in a pink wrap. I have to give Matt's mom the credit for pointing out in a sweet way that a pink wrap might not be the best idea for a boy. Why don't I think of these things?! Oh yes, I know, because thinking is a weakness of mine since I first became pregnant and has only gotten worse with motherhood.

4.
Printstagram
I found this site when I was looking for a place to print instagram photos to frame. You can print 24 photos for $12 and the quality is really nice. The only downside is you have to pay shipping on top of that, so it ends of being a little more than I would prefer to pay, but they are done really well. So if anyone knows of a different place to print them that's less expensive but still a good quality, please share!

5.

I found Corrine's instagram and blog through Solly Baby's instagram and have been following her since. She posts great deals on EVERYTHING on both her blog and instagram feed. So if you're a deal shopper like me, you should check her out!

6.
James Taylor Christmas Album

Matt picked this up when we were at Target the other day (and before you get all impressed and/or jealous, we hardly ever shop at Target together... this was just a pop in trip after getting our Christmas tree) and we've been listening to it since. I love having Christmas music playing in the house and this CD is such a good one to add to the collection! (and yes, we're old fashioned and still buy CDs) :)

7.
Parenthood

This show. Man it's good. Matt and I have been watching it on Netflix and are on Season 3 right now. So so good. It's currently tied with Friday Night Lights for the #1 spot of my all-time favorite shows. So if you've never watched it, you absolutely should.

8.
Goals

Two blogs that I read, Blue-Eyed Bride and Mix and Match Mama, have been setting and sharing monthly goals for themselves and I've felt inspired to do the same. There are certain things that I would like to be more intentional about accomplishing each month, and I think making them public (i.e. putting them on here) would serve as my accountability for actually getting them done. So I figure what better time to start then next month, with the start of a new year? So starting January 1st, I'll make my first list of monthly goals, and hopefully, when I check back and create new goals in February, the January ones will be accomplished. That's the idea anyway. ;)

9.
RYAN blocks

My neighbor gave these to Ryan when he was born and I just love them! The "R" has his birth stats on it. They come from this website. I will definitely keep them in mind for future baby gifts!

10.
Nordstrom Cafe Bistro

Everything on the menu looks SO good! Which explains why we're eating there again today, ha.

Yesterday, Ryan and I went on a date there and ended up meeting up with my friend Mary Margaret who was also stopping in for a quick bite to eat. Today, we're going to meet Matt and his mom there!

So what are YOUR favorites right now?!

  1. Great list - and thank you SO much for linking to my blog!! I just got my first Solly Baby wrap to try out with Baby #2 this spring, and I can't wait. Also, I'm with you on posting goals each month as a form of accountability... I've always been HORRIBLE at sticking to goals, but I'm planning to buy the Lara Casey Power Sheets this year and make this THE YEAR. :)
