Birthday Celebration: Monroe Style

Last month, my mom made an amazing feast for my sister's birthday. This month, she outdid herself again for mine! I really get so excited about going down to Monroe for family celebrations. Even though we all live fairly close to each other, we just don't seem to see each other as often as we'd like. So when I received the "menu email", I immediately got giddy for to the fun day ahead. . . and not just because the food sounded delish :)

Appetizers:  Hot Spinach Artichoke Dip, Kahlua Pecan topped baked Brie, and Fresh Mozzarella cheese, Tomato, and Basil Skewers   "Can we say raise our cholesterol" :)
Dinner:  Fresh spinach and aged Provolone cheese stuffed Pork Tenderloin with orange Marsala sauce
Triple cheese baked rigatoni
Carrot Souffle
Lemon roasted asparagus
Dessert:  Carrot cake with cream cheese icing AND Pots de Creme, for the chocolate lovers

YUM!!!!!! Love my mom. So here's the pics (of the food and family, haha) from the day!

Second lost tooth!

We got Maddox and Noah some new books- this is the one we got for Maddox

Noah's books- Junie B. First-Grader series- classics if you ask me. :)

Love our nephews!

My mama cookin away!

Kind of gross looking at this stage, but I've wondered how to stuff pork tenderloin- this is how!

Charles found his "skate board" that he got when he was FOUR! How cool is this?!

Always the dare devil! When Matt tried to give Maddox a turn (sitting on his bottom and going a VERY short distance)... Maddox put his feet down right away and said, "Thats for Noah". precious. :)

And I quote my sister, "Okay, we're not getting married, JUST taking a picture here"...hilarious

Uncle Matt's turn!

Guy time: teaching Noah how to shoot a BB gun

While the big boys were practicing the BB gun, Maddox found his own little treasure:

Noah and "Papa" :)

Back to the kitchen! This is how my mom keeps all of the cook times and temps straight.
