Front Yard Makeover Part 2: Finished Product!

Yesterday, I shared the plants we purchased for the front yard makeover and told you about Grower's Outlet in Loganville, GA. Today, I'm sharing the finished product!

I'm really pleased with how everything turned out. I like the look much better than having all of the the tall bushes and trees that covered half of the house before.

Just to give you a good reference point, here's what the house looked like when we first bought it:

That was in 2010. That look on our faces is half- "We just bought our first house!!" and half- "Whoa, did we really just buy this house?!"

So that was then... and after a whole lot of TLC (all of which started here), this is what it looks like now:

Tally and Hagen made their way into a few shots ;) ...Hagen is our next door neighbor's dog and Tally's BFF.

I used this mulch from Home Depot. It's $2.48/bag, and I used 18 bags total (it always takes way more than I think I will- 10 bags the first trip and 8 more the next). I'm no landscaper, but when the prices per bag are $2.48 or $4.99, the $2.48 ones work just fine. ;)

The dogs were making a mess in the mulch as I was taking pictures and I decided not to care (growth moment for me)

So what's next?! ...Bedroom furniture for the master bedroom and a shower door for the master bath. And then a few other non-essentials for the backyard... but I'm kinda getting the itch to start all over again!

Am I crazy?! Wait. Don't answer that.

YAY FOR FRIDAY!
Have a great weekend, y'all!

  2. Looks great! Can't wait to see it all grow in over the coming years. I think I'm gonna steal some of that ground cover for a spot at our house...really could use that to cover all the weeds..

  5. Hooray for a black door! This is perfect for the pumpkins and other Halloween decorations. Hehe! Anyway, I hope you maintain the contrasting color between your siding and your door. It looks attractive. I'm sure your neighbors admire your facade. Well, after seeing the pumpkin here, I guess you're all set for some trick or treating. :)

  8. The new one is much better than the red door. The red one just stands out a bit too much, while the black one at least provides a contrast with the lighter sidings and trimmings. Good luck with your front yard!

  9. Aside from the blooming plants at your front yard, my eyes were captured by your roof, door, and siding as well; your facade looks so awesome! All your renovation projects, including the landscaping, are all worth it. However, I see lots of leaves on your rooftop, Heather. Make sure you regularly clean your roof and gutter. :)
