Florida State, Florida State, Florida State!

On Saturday, we drove down to Tallahassee with Matt's family for the Florida State v. Oklahoma game. Now, I am a Clemson Girl through and through, but I've become a pretty big Seminoles fan in the last four years of marriage. My Tigers are still my first football love, but I'm happy to cheer for another great team for all but one matchup of the season. In fact, that matchup will be next weekend. . .  so there will be no matching colors for us next Saturday!

We had a great time at Florida State, and got to see an exciting game, but unfortunately, the Noles didn't come away with the victory. Such a bummer! I can't say I'm hoping they'll be able to get the win next week either though! haha. . . Here are a few pics from the day:

I don't know if you can see them, but all of us girls are wearing these super cute buttons that my neighbor Sarah made! She has a side business called, appropriately, Game Day Buttons. haha. . . anyways, they are so cute! If you want her to make some for you, you can contact her here!

House Projects

Last weekend, Matt and I got inspired to do a couple of projects around the house. The first was one that had been lingering for a little while. So when the package arrived with our new bamboo shades, we were ready to get them up! To Katie, Graham, and Teague and Brooke, sorry these weren't up BEFORE your visits! Next time you come to stay with us, your room will not have a wide-open view. :)

We found these online at Home Depot. They were very reasonable! Here's the link if you're looking for some for yourself.

The door leading into the guest room- love this door, but it's not exactly private!

It is also right off of the living room, so it needed some coverage!

The view looking out to the living room

Here goes!

Yay!

In case you can't tell, you can't see the inside of the room. :)

And this is how we'll keep them when we don't have overnight-guests. I like to door too much to cover it all the time!

The next project is thanks to Matt's mom, who gave us a mirror they were no longer using in their house. We were thrilled! I feel like our little hallway is now complete. Thanks, M!

The corner table and vases were gifts from our moms too! We set them up on our last house project day. This is how we had it set up before we had the mirror.

My mom gave us this pretty vase. Once the mirror was up, I thought it would look better to rearrange a little. The vase and mirror really complemented each other well!

I had an extra candle and vinyl sticker from this project.

Got any good simple house makeovers you want to share?! Leave me a comment with the link!

We Remember...

North Point Community Church created this video to open up service on the ten-year anniversary of the 9-11 attacks. The original link is here

We Hope...

Psalm 33: 20-22
20 We wait in hope for the LORD;
   he is our help and our shield.
21 In him our hearts rejoice,
   for we trust in his holy name.
22 May your unfailing love be with us, LORD,
   even as we put our hope in you.

We Believe...

Isaiah 53:5-6
5 But he was pierced for our transgressions,
he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was on him,
and by his wounds we are healed.
6 We all, like sheep, have gone astray,
each of us has turned to our own way;
and the LORD has laid on him
the iniquity of us all.

Philippians 4:4-7
 4 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! 5 Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Maddox turns THREE!

Maddox counted down the days to his birthday. Every time someone called the house to wish my sister a happy birthday, he would tell the person it was his birthday. And every time my sister would ask, "Do you know what today is, Maddox?" (on my sister's actual birthday) he would reply, "It's my birthday." or "It's my party." Needless to say, he was very excited when we went over to their house to really celebrate his birthday and have his party! I can hardly believe he's three already. Some days, I still feel like Noah was just born! Our "boys" are growing up so fast!

Picture attempt #1

and #2- only two tries is good! :)

Mom and Charles's turn!

Time for Cake! ... and singing Happy Birthday to yourself. ;)

Our gift was a big hit!
