We are THOSE people...

...You know, the ones who are a little TOO into their dog?

The ones who create a voice for their dog so he can talk back when spoken to...

...The ones who forget that dogs can't tell time and don't have people-feelings.

...The ones who dress their dog up for football games and believe they really understand the weight of important games.

...The ones who send their dog to daycare on days they'll be gone for longer than a regular work day, and, let's not forget, to encourage positive social interaction with other dogs- because that's normal.

...and most recently, the ones who buy not one, but TWO halloween costumes for their dog (mind you, they were 75% off at Petsmart... oh wow, and now I'm justifying),

BECAUSE-- oh it gets better-- (or worse, depending on how you look at it), said daycare is having a costume contest and said "people" aren't sure if the elephant costume (yes, you read that right) will make it through to the actual judging portion of the day.

So in the name of insanity support and festivity, Tally will look like this tonight when trick-or-treaters coming knocking at our door:

Sausage Cream Cheese Braid

I don't have enough fingers or toes to count how many times I have made this dish. It is SO good! We have it when we do breakfast for dinner, we make it when we have company over for brunch, and we've even used it in tailgating with green chillies and hot sausage. Oh, and we make it EVERY time we have a girls' weekend. It's our go-to breakfast dish. It is SO good!

INGREDIENTS:
  • 1- 16oz. package sweet sausage (This time, I used this one, but I usually buy this Jimmy Dean Maple Sausage) ...if you double this recipe, cook one maple sausage with one hot sausage- it's the perfect blend of spicy and sweet*
  • 1- 8oz. package cream cheese (I always buy 1/3 less fat- but let's be honest, this is not a low cal meal)
  • 2- packages butter flake Pillsbury Crescent rolls

DIRECTIONS:
Preheat oven to 375. Brown sausage. Drain excess grease. Return to pan. Add cream cheese. Mix until well blended. Roll out packages of crescent rolls. Cut strips in the sides, 3/4 of the way to the center. Lay sausage mixture down the center of the crescent rolls. Starting from the top, pull up two sides of the crescent rolls, twist, and lay in the center. For a more detailed explanation of how to twist the crescents into a braid, click here. Bake for 14-18 minutes, or until golden brown.
